Chapter 4
The cat pranced through the halls, and Emily followed, mesmerized. Whenever it would turn a corner, Emily would rush, dreading that when she turned the corner, it would have vanished. But it was always there, waiting.
After a while, Emily actually considered the fact that she might be being led in to a trap. But she then glanced again at the cats sleek body and those thoughts disappeared..
The cat seemed to be leading her into an unpopulated area of the the school, it was a section of the school, that the classes were held back in many decades ago when the school was built.
Eventually the fascinating animal stopped after leading her into a classroom, in the old part of the school. The cat then faced her, aand…… spoke.
“Emily,” she said, “You have a great destiny, one that you cannot even imagine, but must realize and see yourself. You may be shocked by what I am doing, because of the form I am in. i have a different form, but here is not the place to show you. But what I want you to know before this happens, is that do not panic.” The cat then looked deep into Emily’s eyes, Emily felt something come over her.
Without her own will, she reached for her ring, and held it in front of her, as if in a daze, she twisted the gem, still attached to the silver band, until it clicked. She then pressed in one of the many surfaces, that is when something wonderous happened. The gem began to glow, and the surface she had pressed, floated off, as if it had been sliced off. It grew, and glowed white. Emily then found herself gazing into the depths of a portal. It glowed with a blinding white light. But for some reason, no fear grew inside of her, not even a twinge. She just gazed at it, baffled.
Once again, against her will she stepped forward and slowly walked into the tunnel.
Emily woke up in the middle of a vast field, she sat up suddenly, looking around in confusion. “How did I get here?” she asked, breaking the silence. Then she remembered, the cat, the ring, the portal. What had come over her? Why had she suddenly just stepped forward, and how did she know how to activate the ring?
Emily held up the ring to the sunlight, and staggered to her feet, looking around. She turned around, and gasped, nearly falling back down. Before her stood an elegant lady. The woman had fiery, long red hair, and twinkling green eyes. She wore a beautiful orange dress, that stretched down to her ankles. Her skin seemed to glow with warmth and kindness. Emily immediately knew this was the cat.The woman stepped forward, her bare foot barely making a sound as it pressed down against the flowers.
“I am Gaarla. Please, follow me.” She turned around, and began striding of, towards a hill. Emily hesitated, but gave in, and scurried off after her, not wanting to be left alone in this strange world.
As they crested the hill, a large village came into view. Emily gazed at in wonder. From the top of the hill, she could see many creatures, some beautiful anad majestic, others ugly but kind. As she followed Gaarla through the village, she gazed around in wonder.
Emily soon found out, that everyone there was like humans back at earth, with families, and feelings. Even the ones that made her want to scream in horror, were just like any other family back home. She felt a little more reassured when she sighted humans amongst them.
Gaarla led her into a small cottage, and called out “She’s here!” Immediately an elderly man hobbled out, his skin a pale green. His eyes widened in excitement and he leaned against the wall for support. “Tharche!” he yelled in voice cracked with age.
A young woman, with matching skin, came running. Gaarla turned to Emily. “This is Tharche. Long ago, before the planet of Bluthe went into turmoil, this woman, recieved a prophecy. About you.”
