Archive for September, 2002

I’ve added the rest of my pics from our vacation in Portugal back in July/August.

Once you go into the Photo Gallery, you’ll see that it’s the first album. I’ll leave it in that position for the week, but then I’m going to move it down to it’s rightful place (chronologically), since I’m anal like that.

UPDATE: Go here to see the album, it’s been moved.

As we try and explain to everyone time and time again, Bri is a different person at home than she is out in the real world! And I finally have some solid proof!

Here’s what happened….

Last week, we get home from the birthday party at Ted & Sandy’s house (pics coming), and Bri heads straight for her room. As I walked past her door, I see a flash of Bri’s mischevious little smile as she quickly shuts it. Sensing something amiss, I called out to Bri, “Honey, what are you doing??”

From behind the door: (rustle, rustle) “It’s a surprise! No peeking!”

Oh, boy…

We weren’t sure what to expect, so we wait. We knew she was definitely stalling, since it was bedtime, but we were curious as to what she was up to, so we played along.

Good thing, too, because 6 or 7 minutes later, out came this!

I’ve added some more pictures into the Spain 2002 album. They wrap up our 3 days in Seville. I’ve deliberately left out the pictures from the bullfight we saw, they’re not particularly pleasant. If anyone really wants to see those, just drop me an email at dave@rodrig.com and I’ll create an album for those (but restrict who can view it).

I’ll be adding another album probably tomorrow, for my pictures from Puerto Rico. Then, in the next couple days, I’ll finish uploading all the pics from our 3 weeks in Europe this summer.

Well, I finally got around to throwing a website together. Surprisingly enough, only 2 or 3 people ever brought up the fact that I own rodrig.com, but no website ever existed. The people that did bring it up seemed almost disappointed, so I resolved to get something up, even if it was a basic “hi, how are ya?” page.

Anyway, as many of you know, Jennifer, my lovely wife, bought me a digital camera for Xmas 2000. (If anyone cares, it’s a Fuji Finepix 1400Zoom, a great little camera.) I really got into taking pictures and sharing them with everyone on webshots.com. However, it wasn’t long before I began to resent not having total control of my pictures. There’s more, but I won’t go into all that here. Being the geek that I am, I began to plan (daydream) hosting my own site and sharing them from here in my basement.

And now, you are looking at the end result of that daydreaming. Not terribly exciting, mind you, but at least I’m in control here :) I didn’t get any “creative” genes, so I grabbed Geeklog, and Gallery (see links), followed the INSTALL, and voila! Instant Website!

(Please disregard any of the generic template-ish content (such as the poll to the right), I’ve got more to do.)

So, if you’re here to see my pics, click Photos in the upper left hand corner.

Be sure to comment on any pics you particularly enjoy (or hate!), I’m interested in what you all think.

Thanks, have fun!
